Madiah comes to Athena with a demonstrated track record of success as a producer on various production projects. Her experience with everything from social justice documentaries to reality television series allows her to adapt to and deliver on any production challenge. Her work on Sankofa, a documentary film investigating the lingering effects of colonialism and slavery in Ghana and the U.S., was instrumental in the film’s success at the prestigious Student Academy Awards, where it won the top prize for Domestic Documentary.
Adding to her impressive list of accolades, Madiah received a Fulbright Fellowship to travel to Colombia as an English Teaching Assistant at Santo Tomas University. While there, she managed an eight-course teaching load, managed the school’s social media account, and took in the culture as she traveled across all of South America. Her diverse background will undoubtedly prove valuable in supporting clients’ production projects as well as their social media and digital outreach efforts.
Although a new permanent resident of Philadelphia, Madiah is no stranger to the area, having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Communication and Peace and Justice at Villanova University. Outside of work, the New Haven, Connecticut native can be found reading a new book or calling the shots on a production set.
