Christopher comes to Athena with more than 20 years’ experience writing and editing for national media brands and their advertising partners. In addition to recent work with the branded content studios of The New York Times. and The Washington Post, he spent most of the last two years working at the Foundry for Time Inc., crafting nationally distributed cross-platform campaigns for some of the company’s most important partners. Prior to that, Christopher spent more than a decade working as a creative strategist and content specialist for The New Yorker, Architectural Digest, Bon Appétit, and other titles under the Condé Nast umbrella.
Christopher holds a B.A. in International Relations with an emphasis in Russian Literature and History from Michigan State University. He is a voracious reader and book collector, experienced international traveler, frequent Instagram poster @cvbarillas, and a political wonk with science nerd tendencies.
