Increasing the scope, reach, and diversity of cultural programming in Boston.

Working in close coordination with a global property development firm, along with state and local government authorities headquartered in Boston, Athena is engaging the public domain in the last parcel of unused land in the Boston Seaport. The ambitious development seeks to forge a new kind of public-private partnership in the city—the confluence of storytelling, fine arts, music, food, entertainment, and the free and flowing interaction of people from diverse backgrounds all over the city.


The goal, as conceptualized by Athena's community engagement and creative development teams, is to fashion a new cultural centerpiece for the city: one that combines visionary architecture with equally forward-focused programming that treat all communities in the city as equal and welcome partners.

The building will break ground soon, and teams at Athena are already busy expanding the scope, scale, and reach of its cultural offerings. We are engaging diverse groups of artists, musicians, and performers, as well as youth organizations, educational partners, and interested groups and non-profits from every corner of the city. Athena shares its client's ambition to transform this development into Boston’s newest and most vital public square.
